The Marsh Aire Preserve protects wildlife habitat while providing scenic views and the potential for wildlife watching that draws many homeowners to this area. A marsh hammock, or area of high ground enveloped by marsh, is a hotspot of biodiversity within the preserve. Undeveloped hammocks are important areas of shelter for wildlife during king tides.
