62.48 acres (13.42 acres marsh)

Funded by the Charleston County Greenbelt Program

The central part of what was once a Sea Island cotton plantation, Sunny Side is home to many historic structures. The property contains the plantation home constructed in the 1870s along with the original tabby barn and tabby foundations of the cotton gin from when the property was a satellite plantation prior to the Civil War. The property has been owned and farmed by the Belser family since, and still functions as a working farm today.
