Conservation Easement, with Public Access

9.59 acres

Funded by the Charleston County Greenbelt Program and SC Conservation Bank

The Edisto Island Museum is located right off the Edisto Island National Scenic Byway near the center of Edisto Island on Chisolm Plantation Road. The Museum sits on 9.59 acres of land and is owned by the Edisto Island Historical Preservation Society (EIHPS). In 2025, EIOLT and EIHPS partnered to place the Museum property under a conservation easement, in order to protect it from residential development and to secure funding to enhance the Museum and provide additional public access on site.
