Suffused within the marshes of Russell Creek, the conservation of this tract keeps the vegetative buffer between the salt marsh and possible pollution sources intact, preserve marsh migration space, and adjoins several other protected lands along Russell Creek Road to preserve their scenic character, expand protected wildlife habitat, and connect a conservation corridor.
